Severe Weather and Flooding Impacting Five Southern Region Subdivisions

Announcement Number: CN2019-37
Categories: General Announcements
Posted Date: May 23, 2019

To Our Customers,

Severe weather and flooding continue to impact Southern Region operations in Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas. As a result, five subdivisions are currently out of service. These include:

  • Cherokee (Parsons, Kansas, to McAlester, Oklahoma)
  • Parsons (Paola to Parsons, Kansas)
  • River (Kansas City to Jefferson City, Missouri)
  • Wagoner (Coffeyville, Kansas, to Van Buren, Arkansas)
  • Oklahoma City (El Reno to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma)

Customers with shipments moving through the affected areas may experience delays between 48 and 72 hours.

Additionally, the tornado that touched down in Jefferson City, Missouri, knocked power lines across our main lines temporarily halting operations in the area. Operations resumed this morning.

Severe weather is forecast to continue, likely impacting the Southern Region through the Memorial Day holiday weekend. We will continue to monitor track conditions for washouts during this time, and we have positioned resources so crews can react quickly to any additional service interruptions.
