To Our Customers,

In anticipation of the forthcoming holidays, Union Pacific will run normal through train operations. Local train service will be aligned with customer demand. The following is an update on operations during this time to meet service expectations.

  • Adjustments to normal operations may be made to align with local customer demand.
  • Some intermodal facilities have adjusted gate hours. Please see Union Pacific's Intermodal Holiday Plan for additional information.
  • The six Mexico interchange locations will shut down operations on December 25th and again on January 1st, with operations returning to normal on December 26, 2021, and January 2, 2022. In addition, the Brownsville interchange will shut down on the 24th and 31st, El Paso will have limited interchange on the 24th and 31st.

How To Communicate Critical Needs and Industry Curtailments
We are focused on meeting customer expectations and aligning local operations with customer demand. To communicate or confirm critical facility switching needs during the holiday, please access Case Management (user ID and password required) to request holiday service prior to the close of business on Monday, December 20, 2021, or by contacting Customer Care & Support at 800-272-8777 to request service. You may also notify us of any plant curtailments by opening a case in Case Management and select "Facility Status Update" as the reason.
