To Our Customers,
Since 2000, Union Pacific has invested approximately $51 billion in its network and operations to support America's transportation infrastructure. In 2016, we plan to spend approximately $3.67 billion. Almost half of our capital plan is replacement spending to harden the infrastructure, making the network safer and more resilient. To accomplish that, on average, we replace more than two miles of track and install 10,000 ties a day.
Effective August 1, 2016, Union Pacific will make price adjustments reflective of current market conditions for UPRR 2952- Shingles. Rates will vary by each market but overall will increase an average 5.0%. In addition to the adjustments, we will continue to analyze market conditions and reserve the right to adjust accordingly.
Specific rates by commodity and lane will be updated and available in our Price & Price Documents inquiry.
