Update - California Air Resource Board Drayage Truck Rule

Announcement Number: IM2017-206
Categories: All Intermodal
Posted Date: May 31, 2017

Dear Intermodal Customer,

This announcement is an update to intermodal bulletin IM2017-120, dated April 3, 2017. Beginning in December 2016, notifications were sent to Motor Carriers entering Union Pacific intermodal terminals in California informing of the requirement to register intermodal trucks in the California Air Resource Board's (CARB's) Drayage Truck Registry (DTR), as well as applying the appropriate CARB sticker to the driver's side truck door. To allow our Motor Carriers additional time to update truck registrations in the DTR, the implementation date has been adjusted from June 1 to June 20, 2017.

Please ensure that all intermodal trucks entering Union Pacific terminals in California are registered in CARB's DTR to avoid being rejected at the gate on June 20, 2017.

If you have any questions, please contact your Union Pacific Business Representative.

Thank you,
Intermodal Business Team
