Posted Date: September 8, 2017

Dear Intermodal Customer,

Union Pacific has restored many lanes of service into and out of Houston since Hurricane Harvey devastated the Houston area. While service in many lanes is returning to normal, Union Pacific experienced a bridge outage North of Houston that is causing trains to be re-routed. This outage is causing delays in several lanes destined for Houston.

The following lanes will experience a delay of 12 hours:
• Brooklyn, OR (Portland) to Houston, TX
• Denver, CO to Houston, TX
• Dupo, IL to Houston, TX
• Global 4, IL to Houston, TX
• Oakland, CA to Houston, TX
• Seattle, WA to Houston, TX
• SLCIT, UT (Salt Lake City) to Houston, TX

The 12 hour delay affects all customer schedules including Expedited and Super Flyer. Freight interchanged in Chicago from CSXT destined for Houston and Dallas will also be affected by the delay.

On Monday, September 11, 2017, the local schedules on Union Pacific’s web site will reflect the 12 hour delay in availability. Union Pacific expects to have the bridge repaired toward the end of September. We will send another announcement when the bridge is repaired and service is restored to normal. Thank you for your patience.

Sincerely,
Intermodal Business Team
