URGENT: Ingate Suspensions: Various Terminals in Chicago, St. Louis and Houston for Flood Recovery Efforts

Dear Premium Customers,

Due to the extensive flooding in the North and South Central United States, Union Pacific will suspend ingates at various Union Pacific intermodal facilities in Chicago, St. Louis and Houston to support recovery efforts. Please note that the suspensions will apply to traffic moving in the North-South corridor, respective to these terminals. Additional details can be found in the bullets below.

Given the severity and duration of flooding, we are currently projecting operations through the impacted areas to be disrupted for a minimum of ten days. Customers should anticipate transit delays of 24-48 hours for all traffic originating, terminating or moving via Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Illinois. 

The following ingate suspensions will be implemented:

Effective 16:00 CDT, Friday May 31, 2019:

  • Ingating traffic at Chicago Global 4, destined for St. Louis and Houston will be suspended until further notice.

Effective 17:00 CDT, Friday May 31, 2019:

  • Ingating traffic at Houston, destined for St. Louis, Global 4, Denver, Seattle, Salt Lake City and Marion will be suspended until further notice.

Effective 23:00 CDT, Friday May 31, 2019:

  • Ingating traffic at St. Louis, destined for Houston and Mesquite will be suspended until further notice.

As always, in order to support terminal fluidity, customers are encouraged to outgate dwelling traffic at all Union Pacific intermodal terminals as soon as possible.
