Ramp Change: Brooklyn to Los Angeles (Domestic)

Announcement Number: IM2019-125
Categories: All Intermodal
Posted Date: June 12, 2019

Dear Premium Customers,

As Union Pacific works through significant capital investment to expand our Los Angeles area intermodal terminals, we've made service changes to best accommodate customer volumes for ease of ramp access. In 2017, volume moving southbound in the I-5 corridor was relocated from LATC to East Los Angeles to support the construction work being performed at LATC. With the recent southbound change of Salt Lake City volume moving to East Los Angeles, we are correspondingly returning the Brooklyn originating I-5 southbound service to LATC.

  • Last day to waybill from Brooklyn to Los Angeles is Thursday, June 13. Units will notify for outgate at East Los Angeles through Sunday, June 16.
  • Effective Friday, June 14, all waybills for Brooklyn to the Los Angeles market will need to be billed to LATC. Beginning Monday, June 17, units will notify for outgate at LATC.

We appreciate your assistance while we've made these terminal improvements and aligned service to best suit customer needs. Please contact your Union Pacific representative with any questions.

Sincerely,

Premium Marketing and Sales
