Announcement Number: IM2021-127
Categories: Domestic Terminals,Domestic Service Lanes and Schedules
Posted Date: August 12, 2021

Dear Premium Customers,

Union Pacific is currently experiencing elevated parked inventory levels at our East Los Angeles intermodal terminal that is straining our ability to maintain fluid operations. To help alleviate the elevated inventory levels at East Los Angeles, we will temporarily shift ingates from East Los Angeles to LATC for shipments moving to various CSX and NS terminals. We are optimistic the close proximity of LATC to East Los Angeles will yield minimal disruption to your supply chain and help avoid unnecessary delays at East Los Angeles.

Effective immediately, domestic shipments destined to the following locations will be accepted at LATC, and will only be accepted at East Los Angeles until 23:59 PDT Thursday, August 12:

  • CSX terminals: Chambersburg, PA; Kearny, NJ; Northwest Ohio; Springfield, MA; Worcester, MA
  • NS terminals: Cincinnati, OH; Croxton, NJ; Harrisburg, PA; Morrisville, PA

Ingates for these destinations will resume at East Los Angeles and no longer be accepted at LATC after 14:30 PDT Tuesday, August 17. Additionally, there will be some inbound shipments from Chicago that will be grounded and notified for outgate at LATC. This will be communicated by our Customer Care and Support team, so please monitor notification on your inbound shipments carefully.

We appreciate your assistance as we work to quickly restore fluid operations to our Los Angeles area intermodal terminals.

Sincerely,

Premium Marketing and Sales
