Union Pacific updated EMP and UMAX per diem schedules

Dear Premium Customers,
Union Pacific will be implementing changes to the standard EMP and UMAX per diem scale effective October 16, 2021. Based on customer feedback, we are introducing two new per diem scales, one for strong market conditions and an alternate for soft market conditions. Union Pacific’s new Strong and Soft market EMP/UMAX per diem scales are as follows:

The change from one scale to another will be determined by an internal Union Pacific assessment looking at trends in market conditions and equipment capacity. When the trend begins to shift, customers will be notified through regular equipment capacity updates. Once the trends remain constant, signaling a change, an announcement will be issued with a seven-day notice for the new per diem scale.
On October 16, 2021, the Strong Market scale will go into effect due to overall constraints on equipment capacity and market conditions.
