BOP operates freight service from Rio Grande City to Mission, TX (31.6 miles), where a connection is made with UP via the Rio Valley Switching Company (RVSC). Traffic includes silica sand, ballast, crushed stone, asphalt, scrap paper and feed grains.

History

This line was built by the St. Louis, Brownsville & Mexico Railroad and opened in 1925. The line came under Missouri Pacific Railroad control and was absorbed by MP in 1956. Short line service started February 2, 1984.
