Jacque Bendon, Union Pacific’s senior vice president, Marketing and Sales, has broken through the proverbial glass ceiling in an industry where only 15% of the transportation workforce are women.

Leading UP’s Industrial business, Bendon oversees a team responsible for $8 billion in annual revenue. At the same time, she’s engaged in her community, serving on multiple boards and making time to mentor fellow employees.

Recognizing her achievements, Profiles in Diversity Journal named Bendon to its list of 2023 Women Worth Watching in Leadership.

“Throughout my career, I’ve learned so much about building relationships and trust, and the importance of setting expectations and holding people accountable,” said Bendon, who has 25 years of UP service. “Feedback and coaching are essential, as are learning new things and taking risks.”

Bendon’s Profiles in Diversity Journal Q&A excerpt:
Personal philosophy: Work hard, be helpful and do your best.
Favorite charity: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Women’s Center for Advancement in Omaha.
Interests: Spending time with family and friends, gardening and traveling.
