Rocker’s 'Hustle' Shapes His Professional, Personal Development

Kenny Rocker Diversity Journal Award

Kenny Rocker attributes his ‘hustle’ – his drive to learn, grow and win as a team – to learning the ins and outs of the industries Union Pacific serves over his 28-year railroad career.

As executive vice president, Marketing and Sales, Rocker is passionate about customer-focused business development, building highly successful teams and supporting Union Pacific’s Diversity and Inclusion program.

For these reasons and more, Rocker is recognized with Profiles in Diversity Journal’s 2022 Black Leadership Award, presented to executives displaying “talent and skill, commitment to excellence, passion for mentoring and advocating for the next generation, and ongoing involvement with the larger community.”

Rocker is responsible for three major business units – Bulk, Industrial and Premium – generating more than $20 billion in annual revenue, along with Marketing and Sales’ Operations, Commercial Strategy, subsidiary Loup Logistics and UP’s Mexico business.

“I continue to learn and value the opportunity to lead such a talented team of people,” Rocker said.

In the community, he serves on the boards of local organizations such as Children’s Hospital, Creighton University and Seventy Five North, which facilitates the revitalization of a healthy, sustainable, mixed-income community in North Omaha.

“My hope is that I can support others to achieve their goals, too,” he said.
