The Grenada Railway is located in Mississippi and is approximately 187 miles long. It runs from Southhaven to Canton, MS with a depot located in Grenada. A spur also runs to Bruce Junction. The line interchanges with Canadian National at Canton, MS and Memphis, TN. The main commodities the railroad hauls include forestry products, scrap metal and grain.
History
The GYRY began operations in July of 2009 on the former lines of Illinois Central. On September 1, 2009, the GYRY became an interline settlement carrier with the ability to interchange directly with the Union Pacific.
