Union Pacific Statement on Canadian Labor Stoppage

Union Pacific continues to work closely with our Canadian rail partners and customers to get impacted shipments moving. Our operations remain fluid and we've released all rail cars previously embargoed by the Canadian railroads.

Previous Statement

For Union Pacific, a rail stoppage in Canada means thousands of cars per day will not move across the border. Everything from grain and fertilizer during the critical summer season, and lumber for building homes are impacted. If prolonged, this shutdown will have even more significant implications. As Union Pacific adheres to embargos related to the lockout, we are working to minimize impact to our customers and the U.S. supply chain. We remain in close communication with the Canadian railroads.
