Maqui Parkerson, Union Pacific Railroad's vice president of Labor Relations, earned a spot among Profiles in Diversity Journal's Diverse Lawyers Making a Difference 2023 award recipients, honored for their commitment to diversifying their field and making a difference at work, in the marketplace and in communities.

Parkerson is an experienced legal and labor relations professional with 25 years of experience spanning three Class I railroads. Her work in Labor Relations resulted in historic agreements aimed at improving the quality of life for Union Pacific’s craft professionals and improving the operating efficiency of the railroad.

In a prior UP role, she helped develop the railroad’s sustainability strategy and managed workstreams aimed at achieving the company’s science-based targets for carbon emissions. She also established and is the executive sponsor of the first employee-led, sustainability-focused business resource group, Planet Tracks.

The honorees will be featured in Profiles in Diversity Journal’s fourth quarter issue, scheduled for late December publication.
