Colorado Pacific Rio Grande LLC (CXRG)

Nature of Firm

Colorado Pacific Rio Grande (CXRG) interchanges with Union Pacific at Walsenburg, Colorado, South of Pueblo and runs 139 miles south and west to Blanca, Alamosa, Antonito and Monte Vista, Colorado.

History

The line was originally a Rio Grande branch line and later the San Luis and Rio Grande Railroad, which filed for bankruptcy in 2019. Soloviev Group acquired the line and CXRG became a handling carrier for Union Pacific in 2023. The new owners have aggressively moved to build relationships with the community, repair, restore confidence, and grow business on the railroad.

The CXRG has common ownership with, but is distinct from the CXR at NA Junction, Colorado.
