Southern California Domestic Intermodal Terminal Realignment Update

Dear Premium Customers,
Union Pacific is pleased to share the following key dates and details pertaining to the final phase of our Los Angeles area domestic terminal realignment. The streamlined operations will result in service plan changes that simplify our network, reduce inefficiencies and drive service improvement from ingate to outgate.
Service between Chicago and Southern California (Local and Interline shipments):
- Westbound service: The last day to waybill and ingate local and rubber tire interline shipments at Global 1 for shipments destined to City of Industry is June 30, by 20:00.
- Norfolk Southern will separately provide guidance on last day to waybill to Los Angeles from respective origins.
- All waybills and ingates thereafter need to reflect LATC destination.
- Eastbound service: The last day to waybill and ingate at City of Industry for Global 1 destination is July 3, by 14:30.
- The last day to waybill and ingate at Los Angeles for interline shipments destined to CSX and NS is July 3, by 14:30.
- All waybills and ingates thereafter need to reflect LATC origin.
- No changes between City of Industry and Global 4, in either direction.
Service between Lathrop and Southern California:
- Southbound service: The last day to waybill and ingate from Lathrop to Los Angeles will be July 1, by 23:59.
- All waybills and ingates thereafter need to reflect LATC destination.
- No changes to northbound service from LATC to Lathrop.
Service between the Southeast U.S. and Los Angeles:
- Westbound service: The last train destined to LATC will run on July 3. All trains thereafter will move to Los Angeles. Norfolk Southern will separately provide guidance on last day to waybill to LATC from respective origins.
- All waybills thereafter will need to reflect Los Angeles destination.
- Eastbound service: The last day to waybill and ingate from LATC to NS destinations (Austell, Birmingham, Charlotte, Fort Pierce, Jacksonville, Miami) will be July 2, by 23:59.
- All waybills and ingates thereafter need to reflect Los Angeles origin.
- No changes to service to/from CSX for Southeast U.S.
