UP 2030 Item 1000 - Grain Products Mileage Scale
Dear Union Pacific Customers, UP 2030 Item 1000 will be taking an average price increase of 4% effective October 1, 2026.

Timeline Set for UP-NS Merger Decision
To Our Customers, The Surface Transportation Board (STB) removed our proceeding from abeyance and adopted a procedural schedule. The timeline is consistent with the 12-month statutory schedule we have been communicating. We now have a firm deadline for final briefs on the calendar and certainty as we move into the merits phase of the review.
Labor Day Operating Plan
To Our Customers, In anticipation of the Labor Day holiday, we would like to update you on operations during this time to meet your service expectations. Network operations are expected to run as normal, with all major interchange locations remaining open. Adjustments to local operations may be made to align with customer holiday demand. What the Opposition is Saying: Don’t Compete With Us
To Our Customers, There's been a lot said in the industry lately about our agreements with CN, which provide CN access to Mexico through Eagle Pass and expand our operating rights on the Elgin, Joliet, & Eastern Railway (EJ&E) in Chicago. I’d encourage you to read Todd Rynaski’s perspective on these agreements. As our Senior Vice President of Strategy, Todd explains how these initiatives will deliver meaningful benefits for customers, including a second direct Canada-to-Mexico routing option and reduced congestion in the Chicago gateway. These are real wins for you and for the broader supply chain. However, they do not replace the transformational benefits that a merger with Norfolk Southern will provide.

UP 4907 & UP 4908 - Rice Boxcar & Covered Hopper Tariff Renewal
Dear Union Pacific Customers, The rice boxcar tariff (UP 4907) and covered hopper tariff (UP 4908) renewal will be published and viewable on UP online by August 31, 2026. New prices are effective October 1, 2026. Union Pacific has increased these tariffs on a lane-by-lane basis so please view your selective lanes to determine price adjustments.

Mutual Commitment Program August 2026 Update
To Our Valued Customers, Union Pacific continues to experience an increase in demand for EMP and UMAX domestic containers across our network, which we greatly appreciate. Action is being taken to both unstack and reposition containers while also increasing train capacity, where applicable, to meet the needs of shippers.
