To Our Customers,
As we implement Unified Plan 2020, we continue to focus on reliability and efficiency for both our customers and Union Pacific. This includes simplifying and standardizing our accessorial tariff, UP 6004. As a follow-up to our previous announcement regarding modifying this tariff, we will be activating and expiring a number of Items (specific sections) within that tariff and others in order to offer a simplified approach to our rule documents. The following list highlights the specific Tariff and Items that will be impacted.
Activating the Following Items Effective 1/1/19:
• UP 6004 Item 9055 – Not Prepared for Service
• UP 6004 Item 9611 – Automotive Train Detention Charges
• UP 6004 Item 9613 – Unit Train Service Terms
• UP 6004 Item 9620 – Demurrage/Chargeable Events Debit/Credit Explanation (reduces credits from two to one)
• UP 6004 Item 9890 – Private Empty Car Storage (net chargeable storage day change from $100 to $140)
Expiring the Following Items Effective 12/31/18:
• UP 6004 Item 9057, Inaccessible Cars Released by Customer – Moved to UP 6004 Item 9055
• UPRR 14 Item 50, Rock Demurrage – Moved to UP 6004 Item 9613
• UP 6004 Item 9607, Unit Train Lay Down (various STCCs) – Moved to UP 6004 Item 9613
• UP 6004 Item 9624, Loaded Soda Ash Unit Train Lay Down Charge – Moved to UP 6004 Item 9613
• UP 6004 Item 9626, Empty Lay Down Charge for Empty Soda Ash Trains – Moved to UP 6004 Item 9613
• UP 6004 Item 9623, Car Forecasting Unit Train Cancellation Charges - Moved to UP 6004 Item 9613
• UPRR 149 Item 50, Rock Demurrage Exceptions - Moved to UP 6004 Item 9613
