Houston Intermodal Terminal Operations

Dear Premium Customers,
In an effort to provide more consistent and reliable service for our customers, Union Pacific will adjust intermodal operations in the Houston area. Currently both our Englewood and Settegast Yards process intermodal shipments. Beginning September 21, 2020, we will consolidate all intermodal operations for international and domestic service to Settegast Yard in order to help us simplify and provide more efficient operations. The consolidation of operations will streamline train service as well as ramp operations, while enabling increased service frequency to multiple markets.
Following are some details that may impact your operations prior to the consolidation:
- Englewood gate hours will be modified on September 21, 2020 to Monday through Friday, 0800-1700.
- All international equipment and chassis will need to be removed prior to Englewood gate hours ending on Friday, October 2, 2020 at 1700.
- Intermodal service schedules will be updated at up.com.
- All international and domestic customers will need to secure a reservation through Union Pacific's Intermodal Terminal Reservation system (user ID and password required) prior to any ingate activity.
