Denver and Global 4 Ingate Windows Change - Effective August 25

Announcement Number: IM2020-135
Categories: All Intermodal,Domestic Terminals,International Terminals
Posted Date: August 24, 2020

To our Intermodal Customers,

In order to provide you with a safe, reliable and efficient service product, Union Pacific will be adjusting ingate windows at both the Denver, Colorado and Global 4, Joliet, Illinois, intermodal terminals to two days in advance of the scheduled gate cutoff for domestic and international incoming traffic, effective 06:00 CT Tuesday, August 25, 2020. This is a change from three and four day advance windows, and is intended to assist in managing gate and on terminal fluidity. It is important that customers and drayman review the ingate window start times listed in the Intermodal Terminal Reservation (ITR) system (user ID and password required) or the UPGo app.

In 2019, Union Pacific established the ITR system to ensure our customers could match their needs to available train capacity. To ease adoption to ITR, we extended ingate time frames to provide a smooth transition while customers gained familiarity with the ITR system. Due to unprecedented demand for Union Pacific's intermodal services, it has become necessary to increase the management of ingating traffic in order to ensure we deliver the service our customers expect.

We are constantly reviewing our terminal activity and will continue to make adjustments that accommodate our customers, while ensuring our ability to deliver on our service promise.

If you have any questions, please contact Customer Care & Support at 800-272-8777 or your Union Pacific representative.

Sincerely,
