Union Pacific Railroad Sustains Leadership Standing for Climate Change Transparency

Omaha, Neb., December 3, 2015

Union Pacific Railroad has been named a U.S. leader for disclosing quality climate change related information through CDP. Union Pacific achieved a carbon disclosure score of 99 out of a possible 100 and remains among the top 10 percent of all companies in the S&P 500 sample, securing another position on the S&P Climate Disclosure Leadership Index.

"Our environmental sustainability initiatives reinforce how we adapt and innovate to safely meet the nation's dynamic freight transportation needs."

In its seventh annual CDP disclosure, Union Pacific highlights how it is managing infrastructure, equipment and operations through innovation and training to increase fuel efficiency. The railroad again shared its approaches to responsible water management, completing the CDP's water questionnaire.

The company maintained its B rating in CDP's performance band, on an A to E scale.
