UP 4053 Fall 2025/26 Rate Changes

Dear Union Pacific Customer,
Union Pacific's tariff UP 4053 will have several commodity item updates for Fall 2025/25 rate changes.
Canola & Nut Meal Item 2900
Effective Sep 1, 2025, Union Pacific will update rates in UP 4053 item 2900. The rates will increase $250 and will be applied to all rates for PRIVATE covered hoppers (capacity greater than or equal to 5,150 cubic feet). SYSTEM/FOREIGN covered hoppers will be rated 10% more than the PRIVATE covered hopper rates.
DDGS & Gluten
Effective Sep 1, 2025, Union Pacific will update rates in UP 4053 items 4014 (DDGS) increasing $200, 4015 (DDGS) increasing $200 & 4430 (Gluten Products) increasing $200.
Vegetable Oils
Effective Sep 1, 2025, Union Pacific will update rates in UP 4053 items 1020, 1030, and 1040 increasing $200. The increase will be applied to rates for mid tanks (capacity less than or equal to 27,499 Gallons). Large tanks (capacity greater than or equal to 27,500 Gallons) will be 8% more than the mid tank.
Miscellaneous Feed
Effective Sep 1, 2025, Union Pacific will update rates in UP 4053 item 4180. Rates will increase $250 applied to large PRIVATE covered hoppers (capacity greater than or equal to 5,150 cubic feet). Large SYSTEM covered hoppers will be 10% more than the large PRIVATE covered hopper rates. Box cars and Tank cars will be priced the same as Large PRIVATE covered hoppers.
