To Our Customers,

Union Pacific operating personnel have been coordinating with NS and CSX railroads as they make preparations for the arrival of Hurricane Sandy, which is expected to make landfall along the New Jersey coast Monday evening. The storm gained strength today as it moved north along the Eastern Seaboard, with heavy rains and winds measured at 90 mph.

CSX has issued embargoes this afternoon for all shipments into and out of locations in New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and parts of New York and Pennsylvania, including Philadelphia. Earlier today, Norfolk Southern announced embargoes on all intermodal shipments into and out of New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maryland.

NS and CSX are anticipating delays of at least 72 hours for shipments moving through these locations.

We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
