Winter Storm Impacting Operations

Announcement Number: CN2021-21
Categories: General Announcements
Posted Date: March 14, 2021

To Our Customers,

A severe winter storm across Wyoming, Colorado, western Nebraska and southern Utah is impacting rail operations. Areas affected by the storm have received upwards of 18 inches of snow, with a forecast for an additional 12 to 18 inches in some areas. Interstate, highway and local road closures are resulting in transportation challenges for our crews and high winds are impacting train operations.

We have activated our winter weather action plans and remain focused on delivering your freight as quickly as possible. Pre-positioned resources are assisting in the transportation of crews, and we are working diligently to clean switches and clear accumulating snow off tracks.

Customers can expect delays between 24 and 48 hours for shipments traversing these impacted areas until the severe weather subsides.
