Monitoring Winter Storm

Announcement Number: CN2022-75
Categories: General Announcements
Posted Date: December 19, 2022

To Our Customers,

A winter storm is forecast to bring extreme cold to the Midwest and snowfall across Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin. The heaviest band of snow (6-12 inches) is expected across northern Missouri, northern Illinois, eastern Iowa and Wisconsin.

In anticipation of weather-related impacts to our network, we have positioned resources to address any potential disruptions as quickly and safely as possible. Customers with shipments moving through the impacted states should anticipate delays between 24 to 48 hours.

For customers with rail-served facilities located in the affected area, please be sure to clear all walkways and switches of snow and ice prior to the crew arriving. To get more winter weather preparedness tips, visit the Winter Weather Action Plan for Rail Shippers page. This page includes a printable checklist of steps to take before and after the storm to ensure your facility stays safe and is prepared for service.
