To Our Customers,

Union Pacific is experiencing an increase in demand for EMP and UMAX domestic container capacity out of Southern California, and it is anticipated that demand will increase further in the coming weeks. Union Pacific has increased weekly train capacity, deployed additional locomotives and cars, and continues to reposition containers to support shippers' needs.

In accordance with terms of the Mutual Commitment Program (MCP), Southern California will remain a constrained market. 

Beginning at 00:01 the week of Sunday, November 17, 2024, Union Pacific will apply the following surcharges for weekly standard and aggregate shipment volume above the surge allowance for each MCP Agreement out of the constrained market(s): 

Standard MCP

LA: $600/shipment 

Aggregate MCP

LA: $850/shipment
