Union Pacific Railroad Increasing Train Speed on Clark County Rail Line

$27.9 million Invested in Las Vegas-area Track Improvements

Roseville, Calif, March 18, 2016

Recent track upgrades meeting or exceeding all applicable Federal Railroad Administration standards will allow Union Pacific Railroad to increase train speed from 40 mph to 60 mph on approximately 7.5 miles of rail line between Bonanza Road and Maule Avenue in Clark County.

Increased train speeds typically reduce motorist wait time at crossings and help Union Pacific more efficiently deliver the goods American businesses and families use daily.

Train speeds will increase beginning March 21. Union Pacific invested $27.9 million for Las Vegas-area track improvements over the past two years.
