Union Pacific Increasing Track Speed in Southwest Minnesota

Omaha, Neb., June 22, 2018

Union Pacific will increase the maximum track speed limit from 30 to 40 mph on the rail line running parallel to Highway 60 in Worthington, Minnesota. Train speeds between the 12th Street and Armour Road crossings will increase in weekly five mph increments beginning June 28 until reaching the 40 mph speed limit on July 5.

Union Pacific plans to invest $6 million in Minnesota in 2018 to support the state’s current and future freight transportation needs and to enhance safety and efficiency.
