Freezing Rain in Pacific Northwest Causing Delays

Announcement Number: CN2016-32
Categories: General Announcements
Posted Date: December 9, 2016

To Our Customers,

Freezing rain fell overnight in an area stretching from southwest Washington to west-central Oregon. This caused a shut down of the subdivision and has affected our ability to move traffic between Seattle and Portland, Oregon. While temperatures have begun to moderate and conditions are expected to improve throughout the day, we anticipate that it will take most of the weekend to clear the backlog of traffic. Customers with traffic in the area should expect up to 48-hour delays.

Thank you for your business. Please contact the National Customer Service Center or your Union Pacific representative with any questions.
