Service Restored in California

Announcement Number: CN2021-49
Categories: General Announcements
Posted Date: August 2, 2021

To Our Customers,

Our Engineering and Operating teams continue to make tremendous progress restoring service to the areas impacted by multiple California wildfires. Thanks to their hard work, the Dry Canyon Bridge north of Redding, California, and the two bridges on our route north of Oroville, California, have been repaired. Both routes opened early this morning, ahead of schedule.

Due to the number of rerouted trains, customers with shipments moving through the area will experience transit delays over the next few weeks as we work through the backlog of trains and reposition locomotive and crew resources.

We appreciate your patience as we worked to restore service to these critical areas. If you have any questions, please contact Customer Care & Support at 800-272-8777 or your Union Pacific representative.
