Union Pacific is committed to the safety of our customers’ freight. That commitment translates into routine and frequent safety inspections of our infrastructure. During one such safety inspection today, our engineering team proactively identified a bridge in need of repair between Houston and Spring, Texas. The bridge will be closed temporarily to enable our crews to make the needed repairs for the safety of our customers’ freight, our employees and the local community.
A limited reroute plan is available. Customers with rail shipments moving through the impacted area should anticipate a 72- to 96-hour delay.
