Chicago - Canal Street Equipment Distribution Changes

Dear Premium Customers,
As a follow-up to the May 2, 2019 service update from Kenny Rocker, EVP, Marketing and Sales, below are details regarding our Canal Street Intermodal terminal in Chicago and our EMP and UMAX equipment distribution strategy:
- Effective Friday, August 16, 2019, EMP and UMAX containers will no longer be granted at the Canal Street Intermodal terminal.
- The last day to ingate empty containers at Canal Street will be Friday, August 9, 2019.
- Containers will continue to be granted at other Chicago city area terminals: Global 1, Global 2, Yard Center and Fox Run as well as Global 4 for Chicago west.
- In addition, Fox Run gate hours are increasing to 24 hours/day, 7 days week.
As with all our Unified Plan 2020 initiatives, Union Pacific's objective is to provide a safe, reliable and consistent service product. Simplifying the Chicago Intermodal complex will help us meet these objectives.
