Preliminary Stormwater Management Plan

The La Porte Rail Park project includes a network of proposed stormwater detention ponds that will detain a volume of approximately 230 ac-ft of stormwater, which will then gradually release into Big Island Slough over 48 hours. This is expected to significantly improve regional drainage.

  • Engineered storm water solutions
  • Regional detention with 230 acre-feet of storage
  • Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP)
  • Permanent stormwater quality features

Orange arrows indicate the estimated direction of stormwater sheet flows prior to development. Dark blue arrows indicate the direction of proposed drainage flows.

If the community desires it, an optional public park with a wet-bottom amenity pond will be developed. This regional pond is not necessary for the viability of the project's drainage system.
