Andrew Brady serves as the Vice President-External Relations. He leads Union Pacific’s Washington, D.C. office and advocacy efforts with federal lawmakers and regulators. Prior to joining Union Pacific in 2019, Brady was an Assistant Vice President of Government Affairs at the Association of American Railroads.

Brady previously served as the Deputy Chief of Staff and Legislative Director to a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives where he was responsible for developing and implementing legislative initiatives and Committee work. He also worked as Professional Staff to the Highways and Transit Subcommittee of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives, where he focused on public transportation, motor carrier and behavioral safety issues in developing the 2015 surface transportation law known as the FAST Act.

Brady graduated from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. with a B.A. in Political Science with a focus on public policy.

James Carey serves as the Assistant Vice President-External Relations. He operates out of the Washington, D.C. office and is responsible for advocating on behalf of Union Pacific with federal legislators and regulators regarding issues impacting the company, including its employees, shareholders, customers, and communities.

Carey graduated from Clark Atlanta University (2010) with a B.A. in Business Administration, concentrated in marketing and was an intern at Union Pacific while in college. Since joining Union Pacific full time, he has held several commercial sales roles with direct customer engagement in various markets with assignments for the company in Omaha, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Detroit, and Houston. He spent the last 6 years leading commodity-based sales teams; most recently serving as General Director of Petrochemicals.

Dan Veoni is the General Director of External Relations at Union Pacific, where he advocates before the federal government on matters affecting the company, including its employees, shareholders, customers, and communities. Prior to joining Union Pacific in 2024, Veoni held positions in Global Government Affairs and Federal Business Development at 3M Company.

Previously, Veoni led advocacy and political strategy for a national trade association representing the household goods motor carrier industry. He also served as Professional Staff on the Highways and Transit Subcommittee of the U.S. House of Representatives’ Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, where he managed motor carrier, highway safety and research and development issues on behalf of the Chair. Veoni played a key role in negotiating with the Senate during the conference committee of the 2012 surface transportation law (MAP-21).

Dan holds a Master of Public Policy from George Mason University and a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and daughter.
