Mike Rock was appointed vice president - External Relations in 2007. He operates out of the Washington, D.C., office of Union Pacific Corporation and its subsidiary, Union Pacific Railroad.

In this position, Rock is responsible for issues dealing with transportation and the railroad. This includes economic and safety regulation, passenger rail and Amtrak, security, labor, and state and local transportation projects involving the railroad.

From 1998 to 2006, he served as assistant vice president - External Relations, and from 1992 to 1998, served as the director of Washington Affairs for Transportation. Prior to taking that position, Rock worked at Union Pacific’s hazardous waste management subsidiary, USPCI, as its director of State Relations in Houston, Texas.

In 1989, under Secretary Sam Skinner, Rock served as deputy director of Congressional Affairs at the U.S. Department of Transportation. Before joining DOT, he was minority professional staff on the Surface Transportation Subcommittee of the U.S. House Public Works and Transportation Committee. He also was the legislative director for Congressman Bud Shuster (R-PA).

Rock holds a bachelor's degree from Dickinson College.

Sue Auther Andres is the Assistant Vice President- External Relations for Union Pacific. She operates out of the Washington, D.C office. In her position, Sue is responsible for advocating before the House and Senate, White House and the Executive Branch issues that could impact the company, our employees, shareholders, customers and communities. Her career at Union Pacific began in 1991, first as a Legislative Assistant, than Assistant Director, Director, and most recently Assistant Vice President. Prior to joining Union Pacific, Sue worked for Vice President George H. W. Bush and President George H. W. Bush in the Office of Legislative Affairs.

Sue holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Arizona (1987).

Printz Bolin was appointed assistant vice president - External Relations in February 2008. He operates out of the Washington, D.C., office of Union Pacific Corporation and its subsidiary, Union Pacific Railroad.

In his position, Bolin is responsible for tax issues, environmental legislation, as well as energy issues facing the company. In addition, he also covers health and retirement issues for the company.

Bolin began his career with Union Pacific in 1991 as president of USPCI of Mississippi, the hazardous waste disposal subsidiary of Union Pacific Corporation. After the sale of USPCI in 1994, Bolin joined Union Pacific Resources as director of State Government Relations. Union Pacific Resources was the energy subsidiary of Union Pacific Corporation.

In 1996, after the successful spin-off of Union Pacific Resources, Bolin was promoted to vice president for Federal Affairs and managed the company’s Washington, D.C., office until the sale of Union Pacific Resources to Anadarko Corporation in 2000.

Bolin served as chief of staff to Senator Trent Lott (R-MS) from 1987 until 1991.

A 1982 Bachelor of Science graduate of the University of Mississippi, Bolin is married and the father of two sons.

James Houton was appointed assistant vice president-External Relations in October 2008. Houton operates out of the Washington, D.C., office of Union Pacific Corporation and its subsidiary, Union Pacific Railroad. In this position, Houton is responsible for issues involving the railroad industry, including safety, economic regulation and freight legislation.

Prior to joining the railroad, Houton was a consultant with Elmendorf Strategies in Washington, D.C. He worked as the director of government relations for Microsoft Corporation, in the U.S. Senate for Senator John F. Kerry and with the Senate Democratic Leadership's Steering & Coordination Committee. He served as vice president of government relations with the New England Council.

Houton holds a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Rochester and a master's degree in history from New York University.

Wes Lujan is the Assistant Vice President - External Relations for Union Pacific. He operates out of the Washington, D.C., office of Union Pacific and its subsidiary, Union Pacific Railroad. In his position, Lujan is responsible for advocating before the federal government on issues impacting the company, including its employees, shareholders, customers, and communities. His career with Union Pacific began in 2007, and he has held prior assignments for the company in Sacramento, CA, Chicago, IL, and Roseville, CA.

Lujan holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Southern California (1999), Bachelor of Arts in History from Chico State University (1997), and completed the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business Executive Development Program (2011). In 2015, he was chosen to represent the United States on an international delegation to the Republic of Turkey with the American Council of Young Political Leaders (ACYPL). In his free time, Lujan enjoys spending time camping and hanging out in the forests of Northern Virginia with his wife, son, and daughter, and walking his two Great Danes.
