  • Freight Car Velocity – 239 miles per day
  • Train Velocity – 21.4 miles per hour
  • Terminal Dwell – 19.3 hours

Celebrating Progress: Customer Portal Expansion
Innovation is at the heart of what we do and our latest updates to the Customer Portal are designed to help you stay informed and in control. We’ve expanded access to include intermodal customers and introduced enhancements for our carload users – giving you greater visibility and flexibility. The feedback so far has been outstanding and we’re excited to keep building on that momentum. Your input is invaluable as we continue to improve and share the future of our digital services together. 

Looking Ahead: UP-NS Merger Application
In the coming weeks, we’ll submit our merger application to the Surface Transportation Board (STB) — a key step toward creating a seamless, coast-to-coast rail network that delivers even greater value and reliability. We’ll keep you informed throughout this process and are always available to answer your questions.
