Fall is officially here and with it comes a familiar excitement in my household — college football season! My team is off to a strong start and remains undefeated, but this weekend we face another formidable opponent so I will be cheering loud for my Bulldogs! 

Intermodal Peak Season is well underway and the upcoming holidays bring both grain and intermodal volumes into focus. It’s all about having the infrastructure in place to manage intermodal efficiently and keeping the goods moving to retailers. Across our network, we’re well prepared for this fall’s grain harvest. Locomotives, equipment and resources are ready to support shuttle and manifest trains as the crops make their way to loading facilities. 

Our Metrics 
Service performance for the week ending September 19, 2025, continues to reflect the strength and reliability our customers expect from Union Pacific. These consistent results underscore the dedication of the entire team to deliver the service we sold you.   

• Freight Car Velocity – 232 miles per day 
• Train Velocity – 21.0 miles per hour 
• Terminal Dwell – 20.0 hours
