Environmental Recognition
Union Pacific has a long history of recognizing employees for going above and beyond for the environment.

Public Safety and Hazardous Materials Management
The railroad industry is responsible for shipping 7% of the 3.3 billion tons of all hazardous material freight moving in the United States. Union Pacific handles 1.5 million of those shipments – 99.9% arrive at their destination without incident. We ensures the safe transport of hazardous materials by tracking every rail car, conducting regular inspections and collaborating with communities.
