Union Pacific Sees Return of U.S. Soybean Shipments to China After New Trade Agreement Reached

Union Pacific Railroad is excited to see a return of U.S. soybean and milo shipments bound for China.

The first soybean shipments from the Midwest to ports in the Pacific Northwest and the U.S. Gulf resumed in December, after President Donald Trump reached a trade agreement with China in October.

The renewed demand for U.S. soybeans comes as U.S. farmers harvested a strong soybean crop last year.

Union Pacific transports about 1.3 billion bushels of grain a year, connecting the Midwest and Western production areas to Mexico and export terminals in the Pacific Northwest and Gulf Coast.
