Six Generations. One Railroad Legacy.
When CEO Jim Vena and members of Union Pacific’s senior leadership team traveled aboard the CEO Special from Portland to La Grande and Pocatello, they were guided across Oregon to Idaho by a crew with a remarkable family story.
Locomotive Engineer Erin Folsom worked alongside his daughter, Conductor Addy Folsom, who joined Union Pacific in 2024. Together, they represent the sixth consecutive generation of the Folsom family to work on the railroad, continuing a legacy that began with Erin’s great-great-grandfather, a telegraph operator, and carried through generations of railroaders who followed.
