To Our Customers,
Fall is my favorite season on this railroad. Harvest is starting, the holiday goods are heading to stores and college football is back. It's a busy stretch, and it's the one we plan for all year. Our focus remains where it has been all along: running a safe, reliable railroad that delivers the service we sold you. We appreciate the strong summer volumes we have seen from you, and we are prepared to handle more during the peak seasons ahead.
Seasonal Peak Business
Grain harvest, holiday intermodal demand and canning season all arrive close together each fall, and our crews, locomotives and equipment are already positioned in the right regions to handle them. That is true for seasonal business and for the volumes we move for you all year long. None of that happens without the men and women out on the network who plan months in advance for this. I'm proud of how ready this team is, and that readiness starts with how the railroad is running today.
Operating Performance
Our key operating metrics year to date through July reflect the consistency and dedication you expect from Union Pacific.
Network performance remains strong. While a few recent incidents in August temporarily affected service levels, we have largely worked through them and remain focused on delivering the service this season demands.
Intuitive Technology for Shipment Visibility
Our Customer Experience and Technology teams have been hard at work enhancing the Track Shipments tool within our secure Customer Portal. As the portal's most-used feature, with more than one million customer visits each month, it's important that the experience is intuitive, efficient and makes it easier to do business with us.
If you haven’t already, I encourage you to explore the latest enhancements, including integrated shipment exception visibility and a new interactive map, designed to provide earlier insight into potential issues and a more intuitive tracking experience. We’re excited about the value these improvements bring and remain committed to delivering tools that help support your business.
Merger Support & September 4th Filing Deadline
Thank you for your continued trust in Union Pacific and my sincere appreciation to the many customers who have lent their voices in support of our proposed merger with Norfolk Southern. Your perspective carries real weight in this process. I also understand that every customer weighs this decision differently, and I respect that. What we value most is hearing directly from you about how this combination will affect your business. If you would like your voice heard in front of the STB, please make sure to file a notice of intent to participate by Sept. 4, 2026. Your sales team is ready to help with any questions or with instructions for filing.
Thank You for Your Business
Thank you for trusting Union Pacific with your freight. I'm excited about what this fall holds and about the opportunities ahead for us to grow together. Wherever you are in your peak season, this team is here to help you compete and win, just like my Georgia Bulldogs.
Sincerely,

Kenny Rocker
