To Our Customers,
Effective October 26, 2026, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will require electronic export information to be reported for all loaded rail shipments being exported to Mexico or Canada prior to rail interchange. To help prevent delays, setouts and potential customs inspections, please ensure your U.S. Broker or Freight Forwarder submits the required export information as soon as export billing is transmitted.
What You Need to Do
Please coordinate with your U.S. Customs Broker or Freight Forwarder to ensure that:
Equipment without the required export information on file prior to interchange may be set out and subject to CBP inspection, which could result in shipment delays and additional charges.
We recommend reviewing your current export filing process with your broker or freight forwarder in advance of the deadline on October 26, 2026, to ensure compliance and avoid disruptions to your shipments.
