Rail Safety Starts with Awareness

Staying safe around railroad tracks begins with understanding the risks and knowing how to avoid them. Union Pacific supports two key programs that promote rail safety through education, enforcement, and community outreach.

Operation Lifesaver

A national nonprofit that educates the public on how to stay safe near trains and tracks. It offers safety tips, resources, and training through local chapters and partners.

UP CARES (Crossing Accident Reduction Education and Safety)

Union Pacific’s outreach program brings rail safety directly to communities. Our employee volunteers deliver free presentations to schools, businesses and local groups – reaching thousands each year. We also partner with law enforcement to monitor crossings and enforce safety laws.

Bring Rail Safety to Your Community

Presentations are free and open to schools, neighborhood groups, churches and companies. Request one today and help spread the message of safety. Request a presentation today and help spread the message of safety – it’s free. We also encourage sharing rail safety education resources.
