Union Pacific Delivers Third Consecutive Perfect Peak Season

Union Pacific posted its third consecutive “Perfect Peak” season in 2025, a clear sign the railroad’s Safety, Service and Operational Excellence strategy delivers dependable results when demand is highest. The achievement follows a record year in safety and service performance, reinforcing the strength of the overall network.

Peak Season spans the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas, when holiday shipping surges and on-time performance is essential for premium customers. Union Pacific answered the call – moving time-sensitive freight safely and efficiently.

Union Pacific delivered steady, reliable service and supported continued growth in intermodal traffic, handling more than 26,000 priority loads, surpassing last year’s total. Customer confidence reflects that performance.

Alongside UPS, FedEx increased its presence on Union Pacific, increasing its annual peak volumes significantly during the height of the holiday season.

“These results underscore the premium community’s confidence in Union Pacific’s ability to deliver sustained, best-in-class service,” said Todd Lenczowski, general director-Sales.
