Contractor Safety Checklist
- Connect with us on the SAP Business Network
- Once you receive your contract, you will need to contact eRailSafe and provide the vendor ID number furnished on your contract cover letter (or set up an online account) to get set up in the eRailSafe system. Complete eRailSafe registration for your company and any employees who will perform work on Railroad property. These employees will need to take and pass the eRailSafe certification test to get their eRailsafe ID cards issued. (Note: eRailSafe cards may take up to 2 to 3 weeks for delivery after you pass the test, so please enroll your employees promptly to ensure compliance with the Union Pacific Controlled Access Policy).
- Read, understand, and comply with UP’s Supplier Terms and Conditions as well as the Minimum Safety Requirements for Union Pacific Contractors and applicable addendums. Contact the Union Pacific employee in charge to verify any other safety requirements and with questions.
ISN Requirement for Suppliers
Union Pacific Railroad is partnering with ISNetworld (ISN) – www.isn.com – to further enhance its contractor management program. Effective immediately, ISN will serve as Union Pacific’s primary contractor information management system, requiring contractors and subcontractors performing services for Union Pacific to become subscribers to ISN.
If your company is a current subscriber, there is no additional fee; however, please ensure compliance with Union Pacific’s ISN platform requirements.
If your company is new to ISN, an annual service fee is required; however, Union Pacific believes the benefits of using ISN – streamlining the qualification process, additional marketing exposure and unlimited ISN support – outweigh the costs. Please find the enclosed list of comprehensive contractor benefits and a subscription quick start guide.
For continued consideration during the contractor selection process, your company must have an active ISN subscription and be compliant with Union Pacific's ISN platform requirements.
Union Pacific requires the following information submitted in the ISN platform:
- Company Profile
- Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) Questionnaire
- HSE Programs
- Document Submittal: FRA 219 and/or 243 Acceptance Letters, OSHA Forms and Experience Modifer
- Union Pacific Training Requirements and Acknowledgements
- Monthly On-Site Hours and Incident Reporting
For additional details about ISN or to complete the subscription process, please contact ISN Customer Service at 1-800-976-1303 or visit www.isn.com.
