Union Pacific Railroad celebrated the grand opening of its newest intermodal terminal today in Kansas City, Kansas. This is the fourth intermodal facility Union Pacific has opened since 2021 as part of its ongoing commitment to quickly meet customers’ needs and grow the railroad’s intermodal footprint.

Union Pacific Corporation (NYSE: UNP) and Norfolk Southern Corporation (NYSE: NSC) today announced an agreement to create America’s first transcontinental railroad. These legendary companies will seamlessly connect over 50,000 route miles across 43 states from the East Coast to the West Coast, linking approximately 100 ports and nearly every corner of North America. This combination will transform the U.S. supply chain, unleash the industrial strength of American manufacturing, and create new sources of economic growth and workforce opportunity that preserves union jobs.

Union Pacific Railroad announced today it has entered into an agreement with Jaguar Transport Holdings LLC to provide short line rail service in the Central Industrial District in Kansas City, a move that will enhance customer service and support regional economic growth.

Union Pacific Railroad today announced five new Focus Sites, providing businesses additional connections to the railroad’s 32,000-mile network and new opportunities to address their transportation needs.
