Union Pacific Proudly Supports Communities with Over $4 Million to 430 Local Nonprofit Organizations

Community Ties Giving Program Drives Local Impact Across 23 States

Union Pacific Railroad is proud to announce the distribution of more than $4 million in local grants to 430 nonprofit organizations through its Community Ties Giving Program. The awards reinforce Union Pacific’s commitment to building strong, safe and sustainable communities across its 23-state network.

Grants ranging from $5,000 to $30,000 will support initiatives aligned with Union Pacific’s giving priorities: safety, workforce development, community vitality and environmental sustainability. From youth development and job training to public safety and environmental stewardship, the funded projects will directly benefit millions of people in the towns and cities where Union Pacific employees live and work.

“Union Pacific is committed to empowering local organizations that are driving meaningful change,” said Liisa Lawson Stark, vice president-Public Affairs, Union Pacific Railroad. “These nonprofits are the heartbeat of their communities, and we’re honored to support their efforts to create safer, more vibrant places.”

The application process to apply for a Community Ties Giving Grant opens annually in April. It is a competitive process, ensuring a fair opportunity for all eligible entities. More details about the program and how to apply for a grant can be found at up.com/CommunityTies.
